Preconception Egg Health: Knowledge Sharing
💖Egg health:
In general, women over the age of 38 with an AMH level between 0.5 and 1.1, and who previously retrieved fewer than three eggs, are considered what we call poor responders.
For both patients and physicians, poor response to medication is a major challenge.
Various stimulation protocols and supportive treatments have been proposed, all with the goal of improving pregnancy success rates in poor responders.
A healthy and beautiful follicle is ideally about 18–23 mm in size. To cultivate high-quality eggs, you may start with the following approaches.
👩👦Nutritional supplementation:
Supplement folic acid, inositol, vitamin D3, and Q10.
👩👦Supportive medication:
Dehydroepiandrosterone, DHEA, works by increasing the number of antral follicles.
During ovarian stimulation, this may allow multiple follicles to grow together, helping retrieve more eggs.
In most clinical studies, DHEA is started three months before IVF treatment at a daily dose of 75 mg and continued until the end of ovarian stimulation. This may help increase the number of eggs retrieved.
💖Enhancing endometrial receptivity:
Before embryo transfer, we need to evaluate whether the endometrium is in good condition for implantation.
Research statistics show that women whose endometrial thickness reaches more than 8 mm at the time of ovulation tend to have better pregnancy rates after embryo transfer.
If the endometrium is too thin, treatment and adjustment by a specialist are needed to help increase the chance of successful embryo implantation in the uterus.
