🤰Pregnant! What Else Should You Worry About? 🤔
In early pregnancy, the main concerns are a 2% chance of ectopic pregnancy and a 10–20% chance of miscarriage.
Therefore, around five weeks of pregnancy, the physician will arrange a blood test to check the pregnant woman’s HCG, human chorionic gonadotropin.
When the level is above 1500, a gestational sac inside the uterus can usually be seen through transvaginal ultrasound. This helps rule out ectopic pregnancy and confirm whether there is a multiple pregnancy.
The miscarriage rate in early pregnancy increases with maternal age.
For women under 35, it is about 10%. At age 40, nearly half of pregnancies may end in miscarriage.
However, if a fetal heartbeat is seen on ultrasound at six weeks of pregnancy, the miscarriage rate drops to 5%.
If a heartbeat is seen at eight weeks, it drops to 3%. At nine weeks, it drops to 2%.
At twelve weeks, if the fetus is still growing and has a heartbeat, the miscarriage rate is only 0.5%.
That is why, according to Taiwanese custom, once pregnancy reaches 12 weeks, it can be joyfully announced to the world 💝📣
My Japanese pregnant patient returned to Yun-I today at ten weeks of pregnancy.
Last month, on her birthday, she saw the baby’s heartbeat. It was truly double happiness 💕 and she was extremely happy.
But today, because she had some bleeding, she was very worried.
I performed an ultrasound, and it showed that the baby was very healthy.
I told her that at her current gestational age, the baby should be very safe now. Only then did she finally feel relieved 🤗
If you encounter any problems during pregnancy, Yun-I will walk through them with you!
㊗️ Wishing you good pregnancy luck 🤱🏻
