So, can eggs still be retrieved if the fallopian tubes are blocked?

📌 Fallopian tube blockage can prevent sperm from reaching the egg, resulting in infertility.

According to the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s 2021 Assisted Reproduction Outcomes Report, among IVF cases nationwide, 6.9% were due to infertility caused by blocked fallopian tubes.

📌 For couples with blocked fallopian tubes, IVF treatment is recommended.

During egg retrieval, the doctor will perform the procedure under anesthesia and sterile conditions. Using transvaginal ultrasound to confirm the position of the ovaries, the doctor can precisely puncture the follicles and retrieve the eggs.

📌 Women with blocked fallopian tubes, or even women who have had both fallopian tubes removed due to disease, can still undergo egg retrieval.

If pregnancy is desired, egg retrieval should also be considered.
